Stereotypes

A common stereotype that in the media is against teenagers. Often times I find myself a victim of this stereotype that because I'm a teenager that I spend my time causing trouble and breaking the rules. I'm not arguing that this isn't true in some cases but any form of stereotype is unfair because it forces people into general groups that are often negative and do not fit the person. In today's society, media holds very little back when it comes to stereotypes. It's so blatantly obvious that even I find myself letting it go unnoticed while watching T.V. or listening to the radio. With all the stereotypes being portrayed in the media, we need to train ourselves not to be influenced by these stereotypes as they can often be negative and unfair.

What Is Media?

Media is a variety of information sources that are all different and ever changing. We interact with the media everyday, the radio playing on the way to work, relaxing after dinner and watching a movie. There are endless ways to use media. Unfortunately, with all the benefits that media brings, it also brings negative aspects that create problems. Often on social media networks, such as Facebook or Twitter, you can witness first hand conflict made public to the world. Don't get me wrong, Media is great! it bring lots of positive and ways to present art to the whole world. I'll admit that i use media every day, its amazing how I am able to preview artists from all over the world.
